Has it only been a week since the last show? Packed program on this May 25th, 2010. The Greek Hot-Shot producer Kassey Voorn, who is climbing charts right now with his track “Enso”, check it out, is on the program talking about his remix of the classic “Nothing” by Holden & Thompson. Literally one of the most guarded tracks out there right now, unless your name is Sasha, you don’t have this…and it rocks.

Also featuring music from DJ Remy, Hybrid, Mark Knight, Pig & Dan back with an original this week, and so much more.

..

1. Andreas Bergmann – The Big Hangover (DJ Remy remix) [Klopfgeist]

Brand-spankin’ new track from one of my favorite remixers – DJ Remy is a master of the tech meets prog build-up; nobody has warmer synths that work as well with the kick ass backdrop of a tech house beat. He’s doing the work for fellow Dutchman Andreas Bergmann who is appearing on his in-house label Klopfgeist.

2. Pleasurekraft – Tarantula [Eklektisch]

Well if the artist name and label were any indication, this would obviously be from a bunch of techno-head Germans, right? Wrong. Pleasurekraft is the brainchild of a Swede and a Spaniard, and they both claim residency in Miami. If that doesn’t make your head swim, then the killer synth-vocal will. I dare you not sing along once it drops half-way through.

3. Moby – Pale Horses (Gui Borratto’s Last Window remix) [Little Idiot]

Mr. Brazil, Gui Borratto, certainly has been doing the royalty treatment these past several months – he’s added both Massive Attack and Moby to his list of redux’s, and it’s obvious why the Electronic Elite are turning to him, especially with this one. “Pale Horses” is headlining a remix EP with some formidable names on it…his stands out as one of, if not *the* most. The bassline is fat, the drive is irresistible, and he whips the absolute most of a milky vocal. Fresh as it gets.

4. Schadenfreude – The Road Leads East (Original Mix) [Yoshitoshi]

Another German imposter, it’s a theme this week. Well these two gents from London certainly are no imposters when it comes to their productions- “The Road Leads” east stands on its own as legit dancefloor material as it gets, and they’re backed up most recently with remix work from Dyno and Meat Katie. We’re showcasing the original today – love the sparse melody and the duh-duh bassline.

5. Solee – Legends [Parquet]

Finally, some real germans! I must admit that this track *almost* didn’t make the cut today, but on a whim was added in at the last second and boy am I glad it was. Hot hot hotness from a truly up-and-coming producer starting to get some legit recognition. Techy-wierdness prodigy John Tejada does an extremely interesting re-interpretation on the release, but we’re featuring the original. Superbly chosen synth melodies and some killer bass-work. A standout track, watch the charts for it.

6. Pig & Dan – Under your Face [Imperanza]

More just-released material, Pig & Dan make their weekly appearance. I’ve always thought the world’s most in-demand remixers are at their best with their originals, of which  they have some classics – check out Cocoon, and this only further proves that point. “Under your Face” is a delightful and driving showcase for some seriously dark and deep-space SciFi techno. It’s sweaty mid-to-late set club material.

7. FM Radio Gods – 333 (D-Nox & Beckers remix) [Baroque]

How about a break from the techno, eh? D-Nox & Beckers never seem to put out a bad track, and they work wonders on this one from the Montreal trio FM Radio Gods. Almost tribal-house percussion with some fantastic gated synths and basslines, it’s a crowd pleaser, pure and simple.

8. Mark Knight & Funkagenda – Antidote [Toolroom]

Toolroom is one of the Iconic labels of the past several years, and it’s all under the supervision of label-boss Mark Knight. He’s a man of many tastes, and we think he’s at his best right here  teaming up with Funkagenda on “Antidote” – he premiered it at WMC a couple months ago and it’s gone on to some major success. We say well-deserved – repetition means power, and this track has tons of it. Will be a hit all the way through the summer.

9. Hybrid – Can you Hear Me (Hybrid’s Kill City Dub 02) [D’stinctive]

Hybrid does epic like *nobody* else, and that has always been the case since they stepped onto the scene almost 15 years ago. Well this time they take a solid original and turn it into something truly fresh and exciting. It’s part of a “Can you Hear Me” remix EP just out with some other great stuff. We think this one rocks the most.

10. Holden & Thompson – Nothing (Kassey Voorn) [unsigned]

We weren’t kidding, this track is locked down tighter than Fort Knox, and for good reason – it’s so fresh it’s not even out yet. Kassey Voorn does a masterful job making a Classic relevant for today, and we’re not the only ones who have noticed – if you’ve seen Sasha in the past couple months you’ll know he feels similarly. An exclusive here folks, keep your eyes and ears peeled for the full release.

That’s it for this week. Tune in next week for Hybrid on the “Tastemaker” segement featuring a track that’s near and dear to them, as well as an interview with Max Graham and Sultan in the works. Think outside the Genre-box, Buy your Music, and Keep it Fresh!
