Dun! Dun nuh nun! Duh nuh nun! Buh-buh buh-buh buh-bow!

In case you were wondering, that’s is how you write an AC/DC guitar lick with words.

I’m back 🙂

No sickness today. Just normalness and work. Got a bunch done in that department, both with editing, and with a full hour sesh on the novel just now in which I wrote 10 goddamn pages. 10 of them! I’m going to do the same tomorrow, and I will be one freaking day away from being fully caught up, even after all the extraneous shyte that happened this month.

It’s not quite so around-the-corner for the editing work, alas, but even that is all do-able.

It’s the last day of July. How freaking crazy is THAT? One more month.

ONE MORE MONTH and then it’s wedding times. I’m still going to plow through with this full-blown work schedule till the end of the year, but getting the wedding out of the way will be huge. HUGE I tell ya!

And then life, you know…it will continue to happen.

The baseball trading deadline was today (non-waiver trades, if you want to get technical) and holy shit balls, it was a huge one. The A’s traded our 3rd hole/clean-up hitter Yoenis Cespedes to the Boston Red Sox for their ace starting pitcher Jon Lester. The Tigers got David Price, and the Angels, thankfully, did nothing. I have intense feelings on the matter, which I haven’t been able to sort out yet, so I’ll just summarize by saying that this better fucking work. I want to see the A’s win a ring. If we don’t…then it will really be shitty. Tune in late september to october.

I listened to more of “The Children of Tendu” podcast today, which I believe I’ve mentioned before. It’s a podcast covering all the basic (and more advanced) topics on writing for Television, which is something that I’m gunning for right now. Not sure if the first million times I’ve mentioned it tipped you off to that or not.

The first time I listened, it actually gave me a bit of a panic attack, because I realized just how much work I really had ahead of me. But, since that moment, and me continuing to plug away every day, I’m finding it to be immensely helpful, and positive, and funny, and just…yeah, positive. There’s a willingness, it strikes me, amongst the writing community to develop new writers. And I just find that to be, really really heartening. Like, with all the bullshit out there in this fucking town, at least there are fellow writers who will stick up for each other, and even spend 13 hours of their own time to put together a podcast about the business for babies like me.

Tomorrow, I think I already mentioned, it’s more of the same. The working. The writing. The living.

Right now, it’s time for bed. Enough celebrating of feeling not-sick. Time for the sleeps. Catch you crazy kids tomorrow!
