Today was a glorious smattering of many things. Seriously. One of the best days that I’ve had in a long time…at home at least πŸ˜› Which is *not* to say at all that my days have been shitty at home. Not at all. Seriously. This one just happened to be particularly satisfying.

I got my haircut and saw Felicia. I did a lot of talking πŸ˜› Sometimes that happens, especially when I have a lot to share. Which, I did. Told her about the wedding, and all the projects that I’m working on. I was a blabber mouth.

Then, I came home and went grocery shopping. That never fails to put me in a good mood, having food in the house. And, then I plopped down as planned, and started watching Nebraska, which turned out to be a freaking delightful movie. Nothing too flashy or over impressive, just a simple, sweet, very funny, very well-written movie. It *was* one of the best movies made last year (which is good, seeing as it was an Oscar contender).

After watching that for an hour, it was time to get some writing done, which I did, interspersed with a couple naps. Liz and I were just talking about that as we both got into bed, how we’re both feeling totally bushwhacked right now. Beat. Tired. And not in a “I’m tired of this shit” kind of way…no, it’s just an exhale-type, TIRED tired. Physically and mentally tired. It’s been a big year, and a lot leading up to everything that happened a couple weeks ago. It just feels like natural point in the year to just kind of breathe and reset.

I got half my outline re-worked, and I’m going to finish the other half tomorrow. Currently 6 (planned) pages over where I should be, but that’s not the end of the world. If I’m over by 10 pages on this draft, it’s not the end of the world. There’s just so much to pack into so little time. I have a name, now, for my pilot. It’s called Icarus, and it’s freaking perfect. Love the name. If you want to know why, you’ll just have to read the pilot, won’t you? πŸ˜›

I’ve also decided that I think I’m going to do golf on Thursday. Looking forward to getting out and doing that. I *really* want to play 18 holes once a month for the next few months. I think that would be really cool, and I might actually improve some. We’ll see how that goes.

I got my Jawbone UP replacement band today. I think I wrote about it, but whilst we were in maui, my old one (“old” being a relative term) stopped working with its lights and the multifunction button. It would still track steps, but I couldn’t use the button to change to sleep mode, for example. The button was starting to recede back into the band’s rubber casing, which apparently is a common issue with this model. Whatevs. You live, you learn. I got it for half price, and I’m pretty sure I want a Apple Watch some time next year πŸ˜›

Anyway, more writing tomorrow. I’m going to go plan my day out. I’m feeling jazzed and focused on this next draft of the pilot script, which is great. And, after that, it’ll be right back into writing the novel, which is HALF DONE. How crazy is that shit? It’s crazy.

See you kids tomorrow!

Oh, and last but certainly not least, a good friend of mine just had a baby today, after a 13-hour labor. A boy. Congrats to him and his family!
