I don’t know if any of the Incrediblog faithful are Brits. If so, tonight’s title isn’t what you think. No, it’s an older meaning of the word, we think. It’s a word that the Ho used tonight when describing the sounds that Coco, our newest addition to the puppy family makes when she’s snuggling up, or getting her belly rubbed. These cute little snorts that she makes. They’re a wonderful sound, a sound I imagine that she made with her puppies to make them feel good, and safe, and happy. And playful. She makes the noises a lot when she’s feeling particularly happy and energetic. I thought it was a very apt word to describe the sound, and the feeling behind it. None of the nastiness of the British slang πŸ˜›

I had a very strong work day today. The strongest that I’ve had in quite a while. It started off a little rocky, but I quickly corrected myself, and blasted through the day. This will be the third day in a row, however, that I haven’t got my writing done, and that’s not okay. That gets fixed either tomorrow, or Tuesday if need-be. Tomorrow is a bit of a nightmare, actually, in terms of *work*…but, it’s an absolute kick ass day for everything else.

Ryan comes into town tomorrow, probably early afternoon, and then we’re hopefully all trekking down to Disneyland together for our annual Halloween party fun. It’s the only time that we’ve been going down to the big D these past few years. Liz and I used to be crazy about Disneyland. We were there all the time, we even did annual passes one year. But, these past few years, we just haven’t gone as much. Older? Perhaps. I just think we maxed out for a bit, and it’ll come around again some day to go several times in a year.

So, yeah. Tomorrow is a bbbuuusssyyyy day. Gonna try and get as much work done as I can, but I’m also not going to go crazy about it. I’ll get as much done as I can, and the rest I’ll make up. I’m finding my groove again, work-wise, and I’m confident I can keep it going πŸ™‚

Writing-wise, I’m not disciplined. It’s not where I’d like to be just a few days away from my one-year anniversary of this life-changing blogging-every-day thing, but it *is* where I am. And, I can use the anniversary to re-commit to my craft and my discipline. There is still time to finish this year strong.

It’s not quite time for retrospective yet, but I am thinking right now that having written 2/3 of a novel and three drafts of a pilot isn’t too shabby considering that they’re both firsts. It IS my first novel. And, it IS my first pilot. There’s a learning curve, right? That’s normal. What matters is that I *finish*. And, godamnit I’m going to. For reals. This blog has taught me about deadlines and finish lines. They ARE an important part of the process. But, really, only because they serve as a stepping stone for the next part of the process. The process never ends…and once I embraced that, it was actually a very comforting thought.

In other news, I’m totally starting to get used to this new keyboard. It’s a little tougher than the other keyboard, for sure. But, I’m humming right along, actually. I dig it.

I think I’m going to do some reading tonight. Oh! And this is it, okay, here we go, some legit stuff right now. I AM GOING TO POST MY BOOK REVIEWS BY THURSDAY. I’m not actually sure if that’s entry 365 or not, I think it’s actually 366, but godamnit, it’s happening. They will be posted. All three of them: Ringworld, Rendezvous with Rama, and Old Man’s War. Good reads, all three, for various reasons.

How’s that for a goal? πŸ™‚

It’s time for the sleeps. Poor Liz was feeling today what I’ve been feeling the past couple days; the fatigue, and some slight sinus stuff. We’re both pretty sure it’s fringe effects of the flu shot we got. I can happily say, however, that I actually got stronger as the day went on. I’m thinking the worst is behind me. Especially with a good night’s sleep ahead of me. Ya, I took Benadryl. I’m not fucking around y’all.

Peace!
