So, I finished the first past of this latest draft today. 15 pages written. I smelled the finish line on an, admittedly, small goal…but I did smell it nonetheless. And, so I powered through and just wrote the last few scenes that needed writing.

Now, I can focus the rest of the weekend on catching up with the 5 hours or so of editing work that I’m shy on.

It’s going to happen.

This draft of the script is the clearest by far. There is no doubt about that. Buuuttt…it is also still a ways away from being where I ultimately want it to be. I get to take another pass at it over the next week before I’m sending it out for other people’s judgements. This pass is definitely doing to be focused on trimming the fat, it’s 15-20 pages too long right now, AND coercing each scene to reinforce the central theme of the pilot that I’ve finally come around to, which is “You don’t belong here.”

Tomorrow, I get to play some golf, and then it’s home to get some work done. I need about 5 hours to finish out the month of February and then take off a full Sunday. It will be glorious!

Short entry tonight. Pretty tired. It was a frustrating day today while it was happening. I had high hopes of getting those five hours under my belt tonight as opposed tomorrow, but my day was otherwise hijacked by apartment stuff. We installed carpet today in an occupied unit and the tenants weren’t home. That’s building manager code for “I stayed with the carpet guy the whole time.”

But, hey, it’s also why I got this latest draft done, too.

Night bitches!

No citation on tonight’s artwork. I grabbed it a while back and didn’t write down artist info or where I got it from. Sorry, guys! :S
