I crashed into a wall today on the editing front. I’m not sure if it was allergy-related, or just the fact that it;’s been a super busy past three+ weeks, but I hit something.

I was on pace to finish the day early, a good two hours early. As it was, I finished about an hour ago and just spent the rest of the evening zombied on the couch watching the rest of Deliverance. Not sure why it was two 70s “classics” in a row that I’ve never seen, but that was what was playing on the old cinemax last week, so that’s what I recorded.

I wasn’t impressed with Deliverance at all. I thought it was really poorly paced in terms of any tension, ie- I wasn’t scared for these guys for one second, and I tought the script was rreeaaallllyyyy on the nose overall, and downright awful in certain sections, like Jon Voight talked to himself while scaling the cliff and bringing his wallet out to look at his family to freaking telegraph that he’s going to to drop it. Ugh. The band of four men were also completely unlikable from the very first scene, so why the fuck do I care what happens to them…to say nothing of the fact that there was absolutely no build on the creepiness of the natives. They just kinda show up, and then disappear forever, then more randomly show up like halfway through the movie and finally some bad shit goes down. I just didn’t find it viscerally engaging at all, which is what a “thriller” should be, right? Don’t get it. Movie was a snoozefest.

That’s all I got for tonight. It’s late and I am freaking exhuasted. More tomorrow, kids 😉
