Love the scale on tonight’s artwork from Kuldar Leement.

Sonny Gray almost threw a no-hitter tonight. Broken up in the 8th on a single…the Rangers’ only hit for the night.

So, today was Opening Day (or Night, depending on your team’s schedule), and it was something I very much wanted to participate in, even though it was a work day for me. Well, I worked a half day yesterday, and I worked a half day today, and I’m sitting here in bed completely 100% on schedule editing-wise. So, that’s the good news. I’m crushing it on the “paid work” front.

I also got to hang out with Joe, watch the game, we set up our Green Collar Podcast twitter account stuff and followed some fellow A’s peeps, and we nearly choked each other out arguing over whether or not a “short-hop” is something to be desired when trying to field a throw at first base or not. It was glorious. It’s a lot of fun doing the podcast with that guy, we’ve cranked through 4 of them already, and I’m very much looking forward to living through the ups and downs of a season with him on the microphones.

Baseball season starting and this podcast have definitely messed with my feng shui, I will say. And, I don’t mean that in a bad way, I simply mean it in a “this is a new thing” kind of way. What can I say, I’m a creature of habit. It’s worth the getting-used-to, though. It’s something I genuinely love doing. It’s fun to put together. It *is* partly why I’ve felt off-kilter for the past week or so, one of the things contributing to the  not-writing…but as opposed to the past where I would have wished for all the distractions of life to disappear so I could just get some damn work done…I’ve decided to live life instead. Right? Life is going to happen whether I like it or not, so there *is* no waiting for the “perfect” conditions. The perfect conditions are right now.

Writing did NOT happen today. My office visit took a little longer than I’d hoped, and I then got sucked into podcast stuff like a chump. It’s not happening tomorrow. I know I keep saying that, guys…but I’m going to say it until it’s true. I’ve been here before. I can get myself out of it.

And, with that, I’m going to bed. It rains here in LA tomorrow. I’m half an episode away from being through Season 1 of TNG. Season 2 is definitely not much better, if any better at all really…but, then we take off a bit from there, don’t we? So that’s exciting, too. 2015. The year Ira went through all of Star Trek from beginning to end.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sitting in bed having done a full day’s work. Finally. For, like, the third or fourth time this year. Ugh. But, I’m not going to dwell on that, but rather the feeling it will give me. The ideas are in my head, and the money is sitting there waiting to be made. Tomorrow will make them a reality. Good night!
