First off…today is July 2, 2015. My late younger brother Russell was born on July 2, 1989, and he died on September 19, 2006. He would have been 26 today, having a quarter life crises, struggling perhaps to find a job after college…it’s just very sad. Sad that he doesn’t get to participate in the ups and downs of a long life. And, I miss him. It makes me sad that I don’t get to enjoy his company any more. But, I do enjoy my memories of him. THAT is definitely true.

I remember, in fact, the day he was born. I was out sleeping in the back of my Aunt Susan and Uncle Tony’s truck. I believe I was sleeping in there with my cousin Jeremy, and my Aunt Susan came and woke us up to say that my mom had gone into the hospital. It was happening. She had that mixture of excitement and anticipation…it’s a major event, even nowadays when a mother goes into labor. I remember feeling that in the air that night.

I met him for the first time that afternoon, I think. All black and blue and smushy as newborns always do. Takes them a while to kind of stretch out, you know? Get to the proper shape. Babies were TOTALLY intimidating to me as a kid. I had zero instinct with what to do with them…I probably still don’t, in fact. Kids? Yes. Babies. Nope. No idea. Super awkward.

Anyway…happy birthday to my brother Russell. I love you, and I miss you, and I will never, ever forget you.

I actually need to wrap this up because it’s late already 😛 Liz and I watched So You Think You Can Dance together after she got home from this Buzzfeed documentary screening, so I’m in bed a little later than I like on a night before working, but whatever. I took TWO naps today, albeit each were only about 20 minutes and 40 minutes respectively. I was REALLY tired today. Just pooped. But, I feel refreshed enough to have a very successful day tomorrow.

BUT…I spent some extra time tonight on my calendar planning out my next 6 weeks. I will have JUST enough time to crank out this pilot I want to. I’m excited. I can do it. I also figured out that I can start doing TWO hours of writing each day, one hour for TV writing, and one hour for novel writing. Man…if I can figure that shit out? With my editing schedule? Holy shit…I am unstoppable.

It’s 6 months into the year. I have a lot I’d like to get accomplished. It’s go time. Let’s do this! 🙂
