My iPad just informed me that there is a software update pending, and that it was unable to complete it last night on its own…even though I had that shit plugged in like it was supposed to be. Why does that never work. Didn’t work on my last iPad, doesn’t work on this one. Go figure.

So, Josh and I podcasted today, and it was glorious. Genuinely going to be a couple of our best podcasts of the show. I think. I never *really* know which ones will be standouts and which ones won’t…but I feel pretty confident that these two will be highlights of Season 2. We both agreed that having a couple weeks off from the thing was a good move. Not that we *decided* we were going to do that, it just kinda happened, but that we’re glad it did. This whole Two Guys One Trek thing is a marathon, it’s not a sprint. There is no prize for finishing first, like those Olympics that are on right now…see what I did there…really what matters is how good the episodes are because when it’s all said and DONE, those are all that will be left. That’s it, yo. This podcast is not time-sensitive. We can take our time here and there.

Now, that said, neither of us want it to last TOO long. We have momentum. We want to keep that up. And we will. We’ll be finished with everything, Original series, Animated, and the movies around a year from when we started. Pretty. Freaking. Good. A break here or there for a week or two won’t do us any harm. In fact, it clearly can do us some good, so why not?

Writing today was really good. I’m back into a rhythm, which is nice. I find that really has an impact on me, what kind of rhythm I have. It’s why I feel like I enjoy writing prose so much, you really get to relish the rhythm. I know that writing every day in the mornings is helping that, for sure. Josh and I talked about that today, about the benefits of setting a time and space each day to sit down and work your art. Whether it’s writing, rewriting, editing, composing, whatever – the consistency is what’s important. Set your goals, sure, just so you know where you’re headed…but then just focus on the daily job of sitting the fuck down and putting in the work.

Got all my other work done, too, which is good. ‘Twas a good day. And I’m actually writing this on time and going to bed on time. Nothing in the Olympics was THAT pressing and fascinating tonight that the Ho and I had to stay up all the way through and watch it…though I must say I really do love doing that with her. USA USA USA

K. That’s all I got, yo. Good night. Sleep tight. Don’t let those bed bugs bite.
