My computer was on the fritz today!
Oh, the stressfulness. I was *convinced* that I had a hard drive that was going bad…but it turned out to be a software issue. No idea what specifically the problem was, but I had to completely wipe and restore my computer. That took EIGHT HOURS…but it was fuggin worth it y’all because my computer booted back up afterwards and it is like nothing ever happened. Everything, and I mean every thing is exactly like I left it this morning. Before the glitches started showing up.
I’m very impressed. Get a Mac, you guys. Time Machine and its backup/restore capabilities are light years ahead of anything I ever had with a PC. I was able to press one single button and have the program wipe clean my hard drive and then put everything back where it was supposed to be. All my programs work, all my files are exactly where they’re supposed to be…even my internet cache is the same. It’s impressive.
The downside was that I didn’t get all the work done today I wanted to, but still…I don’t have much left for tomorrow. So, winning. I also wasn’t able to meet with Josh to work on his feature, which had been the plan. Sigh.
It’s not even 11pm yet and both the Ho and I are in bed. It was a tiring day for both of us. We had guests over pretty much all day, fellow shih tzu owners. So, the dogs played, we watched them, and the hoomans got to know each other. Both Coops and Coco are so friggin tired right now. Passed da fuck out. Must be stressful for dogs to have other dogs in their home space.
Anywho, it’s time for sleeps. I got some work done in the end, disaster has been averted with the computer, and I get to have a day off tomorrow. Huzzah. Now…for some reading.
Oh! And I got writing done this morning 🙂
