Life gave me a fair share of lemons today. Was going to be the first try at this newly developed daily “schedule.” But, alas…that’s the way it goes, kids. I cannot friggin COUNT how many times I’ve learned the lesson that you have figure out how to be productive right here and now – waiting till the “time is right with no distractions” is waiting forever šŸ˜›

Apartment stuff, as per usual. It was mayhem starting at 4:30am. Sigh. But, I just got up early, tried to get as much stuff done as I could during the morning times, had lunch, and then took a long nap. And you know what? It worked. I got my writing done, all my apartment stuff…it was dope. Very happy.

The outline for Starstuff 2 Electric Boogaloo (working title) is in full effect. I even mapped out the first 25 pages or so today, which was dooooopppppeeeeee. Very, very exciting. After such fun outlining today, a process that can definitely be up and down for me, man…I cannot WAIT to start writing. Really. I’m looking forward to it so, so much. Sitting down and describing the world swirling around in my head is one of my favorite things to do. Ever.

That’s how I knew I wanted to do this for reals, and not just on the side – because I love it. I definitely still have a long way to go, and I need to find a way to write my books at a decent pace whilst also not burning myself out or coming to resent the whole process…but I have faith. It’s going to take some work and some adjustment, I think…but I have faith. Faith of the fart.

The Ho and I decided to go to Star Trek Las Vegas this year after all. The entire cast of TNG is going to be there, it’s the 30th anniversary, and I suddenly realized I really wanted to get a dedication plaque signed by that whole cast, just like I have for the Original Series crew. And the prophets were smiling upon me! There is actually a 1:1 prop replica of the Enterprise-D dedication plaque that was done by the Franklin Mint back in the 90s. It’s real metal! And there were a few on sale on eBay! So…I got one. It wasn’t expensive. Hopefully it’s actually in good shape, like the owner professes it is…

If that fails (the seller does have a 30-Day return policy), I’ll see if I can get someone here in town (read: Hollywood) that has experience making props to make me one. I know Doug Drexler, one of the actual prop guys for TNG, lives here in the valley…wouldn’t that be awesome to get one from him? Anyway…regardless, I’ll have one ready to go for signing in Vegas. The one I bought today is due in my clutches next week.

I’ll get it signed, and then mount it up in another shadow box next to the Original Series plaque.

There is an Enterprise-E dedication plaque out there that the Roddenberry company made (same people who made the Original Series plaque that we have)…but my ship has always been the “D,” man…that was the ship of my dreams. So, I’m very excited to get this. I hope it’s in good shape. It’s 25 years old šŸ˜› And made back in the day where “collectibles” were made with pretty dubious quality.

That’s all for tonight. Good night!
