For the first time in 20 days, I didn’t write any new words today…and you know what? I’m totally okay with that. I needed a day off. And so I took one. It wasn’t laziness, it wasn’t despair or depression, it wasn’t a lapse in willpower; I just simply wanted a day off.

And it was a glorious day off. I’m going to take one tomorrow, too. And then on Monday, I’m back at it. Probably for another 2 or three weeks straight before I take another day away from work. The rests in between the sprints are so necessary. I don’t want it to dampen momentum; I want it to accelerate momentum. It’s a fine line. No days off is great for keeping momentum…but go too long and burnout will stop you completely. Same goes for too many days off. So…it has to be a balance.

Taking this weekend off is a good pause. Then, back on Monday. I’m sure Monday will be tough…but that’s okay. I’ll get back into the swing of things 🙂

The Ho and I had an AMAZING day today together. She went out early and got breakfast near this vintage shop that was having a special sale that she wanted to get in on. Stood in line for a couple hours, it was that big of a deal. She found some deals, too. Quite the haul for quite the good deal.

Then she came home and we went and had Pho together and went shopping at the 99 Ranch next door. Scored some badass food stuffs. We came home together after that and took an epic nap. THAT was how I knew that I needed to take a couple days off…I don’t usually take a nap like I did today. I was OUT for 2 hours. Then we walked pups once the sun went down (still so warm) and after that, we watched Tron, which I just got on Blu-Ray. It looked excellent. I love that movie.

It was just a really, really, really nice day with the two of us.

Looking forward to another day of rest tomorrow, and getting a few chores done like laundry. It’s AM baseball, so it’s perfect.

Good night!
