I had…a very productive day today. I’m locked in…at least in my determination.

It was a day mostly setup today. I’m trying a different system for a while of keeping track of everything that I need to do, which I talked about for a little bit last night. I started learning about that system today. That was the first part of my day. And it really, really motivated me to finish a bunch of shit in the second half of my day that I’d been putting off to a certain extent because they felt overwhelming.

I just finished proofing the inside of my print version of Starstuff, and I have my very first email list email going out tomorrow morning for those people who signed up for the free giveaway sample of the book. I mean…BIG STUFF. I should be getting my option to send myself a proof around this time tomorrow. HUGE.

I might cry, guys, when I get that proof in the mail. Just bein real.

I hope CreateSpace quality is decent 😛

I’m also starting on a Netflix project for the next month, which will help with expenses for the next three months. That’s going to be a lifesaver…and a challenge, considering I’m officially on deadline with book 2 in this series. But, I’m going to use productivity to beget productivity. I have 2/3 of the first draft written, and I’m finally making solid headway on an outline that I can really dig.

I was listening to an author talk today about how he struggled with his second book. He’s the first one I’ve heard talk about that, and he was saying that he expressed those feelings to his editor, that he felt like he was repeating beats he’d already covered in his first book, and his editor’s response was something that really, really spoke to me: you readers want you to repeat the experience they had reading the first book. That’s what they WANT. Just give them an exciting plot with the characters they’ve already fallen in love with. That was exactly what I needed to hear as I’m about to dive again into churning this book out.

Anyway…it’s time for bed. Shorter entry tonight. I still have to APPLY this new organization program, but I have tomorrow morning now to do that. And Josh and I are also scheduled to meet next week. Great success. I miss that damn podcast, yo. Damn, I miss it. I’m coming Josh! I’m coming!

Ps- the Ho and I watched a doc today on Jonestown and it was still as deeply disturbing as it was several years ago when I watched (or listened?) to some anniversary documentary that played the tapes of Jim Jones talking his congregation into killing themselves. Intense day, yo…
