The A’s played a double header today, first time that’s happened in the Coliseum since, like, 1970 something. I was totally fine with it, because those two games were the soundtrack to my work day.

And work day it was 😛

I got everything done I needed to, plus the writing hour. That’s two days. Two of 60…or 60 million. We’ll see how it goes.

The writing was excellent tonight, I have, like, 1/3 of the pilot episode sketched out already, which is very satisfying. Starting to reach the point where I can *see* what’s happening, and ohhhh man. That’s a very nice place to be. It’s when I start to get REALLY excited.

I realized tonight just how much my main character actually IS like another character in a famous book series. Which, I now have to read, I guess. It’s a great book series, from all I’ve heard about. That’s always nice, when your research involves reading or watching good shit 😛 So, that’s next, after I finish with “Mindhunter.” I guess I’m turning myself into a crime fiction fan, eh? Didn’t see that one coming, to be honest. I always liked watching it, but reading was always strictly in the Sci Fi genre for me. But, then again, that’s what I love about Sci Fi…it’s not so much it’s own distinct genre as all the other genres…set in the future.

Anyway, as long a tiring as these past two days have been with rent, work, AND writing, it’s the second day in a row that I’m going to bed feeling very pleased with myself for accomplishing as much as I have. I’m completely on track with my editing work, making the money, and am making a HUGE step forward towards getting this pilot written, finally, by getting this scene by scene outline written. It already feels clunky and awkward, I just don’t have that much confidence yet in what all needs to go into the construction of such a thing…BUT…I can see it. What I’m reaching for is starting to become much clearer.

It strikes me that I still have sooooo much character work to do as well, once I figure out the rest of the plot, but that will come. I have very distinct archetypes and inspirations to draw from. I have to remember that. Steal from the best.

I do miss reading at night, something I haven’t been able to do for about the past month. Ever since the lead up to going up north to take care of my mom. And, I’m afraid I won’t have much time till probably next month, really, unless it’s on my days off. These work days, three in a row, are just brutal on the free-time factor. As in, there isn’t any, and I’m already pushing it by sitting down to write my blog at 12:30 at night.

Such is the price of “getting shit done.” For now. Not always. Just for now.

Eyes drooping. Head nodding. It’s sleeping time. Good night!
