I am in the throes of a patented Ira work-binge right now…those thoughts are (almost) the only ones on my mind right now.

Worked all day on TG1T. Burned through another 20 episodes exporting out all the sound clips I’ll need for promo and teaser stuff. I have 4 more to do tomorrow morning (proabably whilst accompanying some workers into a unit) and then I jump straight into the next phase which is making all the edits that I notated. That’s a little nerve-wracking just because I’m not sure exactly how long that’s going to take me.

Hopefully it goes quickly. Editing down these podcasts is one of the most important things I feel like I can do to make them entertaining. It keeps the pace up, it keeps Josh and I from repeating ourselves too much. It keeps them at a manageable commuter-length of 30 to 40 minutes. We do have a couple that run slightly longer than that, but those are special episodes. If the conversation is flowing and interesting, of course I let it go. We’re not being held to a time-slot or anything 😛

But…if I *can* get them edited by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, I will be on track (please lord, let it be) to having both seasons 2 and 3 of Two Guys One Trek edited and ready to go by the end of this month, which was the goal. It’ll just be putting in the MST3K-style comments as we watch the episodes in the middle of the podcast that will be left (though that does take time, too). That will be a minor miracle, if I can finish all that by next week. There will still be some work to do in regards to putting together a teaser, I think…I don’t think I’m going to have enough time to do that as well (and that takes a good 5 or 6 hours if putting together the last one was any indication)…but I can handle that.

This is it for a while, guys, in terms of me setting aside this much time to work on these podcasts. Season 4 when we do the animated series is going to HAVE to be less work-intensive…or at the very least spread out with me working an hour or two on it here and there. This is…not too much work, per se…but it’s a lot of work. There are other things I need to move onto.

But, I do it because I love it. And that’s the truth. Seasons 2 and 3 of this podcast are both excellent. I had my worries and my doubts…I didn’t know if we’d stumbled across some sort of magic for that first season because it was all fresh and new and we’d never be able to duplicate it…but that’s not the case. These next two seasons, in fact, might even be better than the first. We’ll see what people think.

Good night, guys. More work tomorrow! Wish me luck.
