I podcasted with Josh today. It was our second set of Animated Series podcasts for TG1T. I felt a bit rusty at first — it’s just been so long since we podcasted on the regular! — but that wore of quickly as it always does.

I then tried to take it easy for the rest of the day. I’m wiped out from working and doing jury duty at the same time, oh, and writing, too. I’m taking the next couple days off to give me brain a rest.

The Ho was out to a PR event tonight, doing a red carpet, and so I stayed in and watched Rogue One and hung out with the pups. We had a nice long walk, played with the Coops, that kind of thing. I still enjoyed Rogue One. This was first time I’d seen it since the theater. There were two relationships in that movie that actually worked for me: the two warriors from Jedha, and the converted imperial droid…K2, I think? Everything else ranged from totally unjustified to so-so. What I genuinely loved from the movie, though, was the sense of adventure. My cup of tea, to put it mildly.

Lastly tonight…I have to weigh in on what’s happening in my country. Our president, in the wake of deaths at a White Supremacist rally last weekend, continues to lament and decry the fact that many cities are preemptively removing Confederate statues…which I find to be, well, I’m not going to mince words: fucking racist. And any ‘conservative’ reader or friend that I may have: how can you possibly, possibly support that?

People literally died last weekend protesting a gathering of Nazis and the KKK…and Donald Trump is spending his tweet-time talking about the removal of Confederate statues, which is EXACTLY WHY THE NAZIS AND THE KKK HAD GATHERED. There is no debate about what those statues of confederate generals mean, you guys, or why they are a racist scourge to our society. Zero. Just look at who’s protesting their removal and fighting to keep them there: Nazis and the KKK, self-proclaimed white supremacist groups responsible for the organized, terrorization and mass murder of people who aren’t white. It quite literally doesn’t get more racist than that. Those groups KILLED PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN. The same groups that designed that fucking swastika flag being waved last weekend, or those logos and cross symbols being worn.

It’s not okay.

I draw a hard line at literal Nazis and the KKK.
